Architectural engineering is the study of building systems (such as structures, electrical power and communications, lighting, and air conditioning) with the intention of integrating them with the building's overall architectural design. The Architectural Engineering Program offers the degree of bachelor of science in architectural engineering. This degree is awarded by the School of Engineering, but the related academic program is jointly offered by KU's School of Architecture and Urban Planning and the School of Engineering.
