Secure Remote Access

Useful Links

FTP has been replaced by a new secure system that uses certificates to encrypt data transfer via SSL on HTTPS for faculty, staff and students of the School of Architecture.  Here is how it works in a nutshell:

1: You must create an https session connection to the resource you want.  All methods below require you to login using your username and password for the saud network.  Personal Files are located at https://sra.saud.ku.edu/faculty/username (for faculty and staff) or https://sra.saud.ku.edu/students/username (for students) where username is replaced by your saud network username.  Project Server Files are located at https://sra.saud.ku.edu/projects

If you just want quick access to download files you can stop here.  To upload we use webDAV over https (step 2).

2: Use a webDAV client...for Windows Users this is built in and know as a web folder or network place.  Macintosh users must download a client to use webDAV over https.

Detailed Instructions for both Operating Systems are listed below.

Windows Users

Microsoft based computers have built-in support for webDAV over https.  No additional client is required.  Refer to the detailed instructions below for help in setting up you network places.

Detailed instructions for Windows Users

Macintosh Users

Currently MAC OS 10.3.X does not support webDAV over HTTPS in the finder so a client that does support this feature must be used.  A client available from webDAV.org should be downloaded to use this feature. Click here to download the Goliath Client.  After you download the client you can use it the same way you use the finder.  Please download and install the Goliath Client on your system and then follow the detailed instructions for for MAC Users in the link below:
